Fall Commencement Ceremonies
CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU AND ALL YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED AT UIC!
Summer and fall 2024 graduates from the Colleges of Applied Health Sciences; Architecture, Design and the Arts, Business Administration; Education; Engineering; Liberal Arts and Sciences; Nursing; Urban Planning and Public Affairs; School of Public Health; and School of Law are invited to attend the 2024 UIC Fall Commencement ceremonies.
Friday, December 13
7:00 pm - College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
(Doors open at 6pm.)
Saturday, December 14
9:00am - College of Business Administration, College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs, and School of Law
(Doors open at 8:00am.)
2:00pm - College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts, College of Education, and College of Engineering
(Doors open at 1:00pm.)
7:00pm - College of Applied Health Sciences, College of Nursing, and School of Public Health
(Doors open at 6:00pm.)
Ceremonies will be held at the Credit Union 1 Arena, 525 South Racine.
Commencement is a joyous occasion that brings together students, parents, friends and guests to celebrate your remarkable achievements. It serves as a testament to your dedication, hard work and perseverance throughout your academic journey.
However, it's important to remember that commencement is an official university event, and as such, prolonged disruptions are not permitted inside the venue. We ask for your cooperation and understanding in maintaining a respectful atmosphere throughout the ceremony. Graduates and guests attending commencement may be asked to leave, or be removed from the venue, if creating prolonged disruptions.
Courtesy and mutual respect for all those in attendance are critical for the enjoyment of this momentous occasion.
Each ceremony is expected to last 2 hours or less. Graduates are expected to stay for the duration of the ceremony.
Registration is required to attend the ceremonies. Registration is now closed. Please email commencement@uic.edu for assistance.
Guest tickets are required for each ceremony. Registered graduates can request tickets through your Marching Order account. Ticket counts are determined based on class size. The amount of tickets will vary for each ceremony. Please do not take more tickets than you need.
Caps and gowns can be purchased through the UIC Bookstore, located in either in store or online. Shipping and pick up options are available. The UIC Bookstore is located on the first floor of Student Center East, 750 S. Halsted.

Latin Honor Cords
Latin Honor Cord distribution will be held in Student Center East, Room 603, on December 11 & 12, from 9:00am - 4:00pm, and on December 13 from 9:00am- 1:00pm. If you are not able to pick up your cord in advance, you can pick it up when you check in to your ceremony.
Parking
For Credit Union 1 Arena:
Complimentary parking is available in the Harrison Street Parking Structure, located 1100 West Harrison Street, Lot 1A, 1109 West Harrison Street or Lot 1B, located 1139 West Harrison Street. Parking in the Harrison Street Parking Structure may be limited. If necessary, guests will be directed to the Halsted/Taylor Street Parking Structure, located at 760 West Taylor Street. Complimentary UIC shuttle buses will be available and directional signage will be posted.
For UIC Forum:
Complimentary parking available in Lot 5 located at 1135 South Morgan Street and Lot 6 located 1135 South Halsted Street.
Facility Information
All graduates and guests will enter through Evolv security systems.
Only small bags, 14" X 14" X 6" or less, will be allowed into the venue. Bags larger than 14" X 14" X 6" will NOT be allowed into the venues. All bags are subject to search upon entry.
The following items are prohibited in the Credit Union 1 Arena:
• Tripods (cameras welcome)
• Strollers
• Helium Balloons
• Noisemakers or air horns
• Pyrotechnic devices
• Outside food or beverages
• Weapons of any kind including knives, spikes, sticks, or anything else deemed unsafe
• Laser pointers
• Graphic boards
• Bottles or cans
• Mace
• Aerosol cans
• Confetti
