Spring Commencement Ceremonies

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2026!  WE ARE PROUD OF YOU AND ALL YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED AT UIC!

The Spring 2026 Commencement Schedule is below.  All ceremonies will be held at the Credit Union 1 Arena (525 South Racine) and the UIC Dorin Forum (725 West Roosevelt).  Links to the virtual ceremonies, which include the live webcast and graduate slides, are listed below each ceremony.

Commencement is a joyous occasion that brings together students, parents, friends and guests to celebrate your remarkable achievements. It serves as a testament to your dedication, hard work and perseverance throughout your academic journey.  Courtesy and mutual respect for all those in attendance are critical for the enjoyment of this momentous occasion.

Graduates must register to participate in the commencement ceremonies.  The link to register will be sent on March 9.

Tickets are required for all ceremonies and can be requested at the time of registration.  The number of tickets allowed is determined by class size and venue capacity.

Commencement tickets are provided at no cost.
Selling or purchasing tickets is prohibited and may be a violation of the UIC Student Disciplinary Code and Illinois state law.  Violators may be subject to ticket cancellation, disciplinary action, and referral to UIC PD.

Each ceremony is expected to last 2 hours or less.  Graduates are expected to stay for the duration of the ceremony.

Caps and Gowns

Caps and gowns can be purchased through the UIC Bookstore, located in either in store or online. Shipping and pick up options are available.  The UIC Bookstore is located on the first floor of Student Center East, 750 S. Halsted.

Latin Honor Cords

Latin Honor Cord distribution will be held in Student Center East, Room 613, on May 4 and 5, from 9:00am – 6:00pm, and on May 6 from 9:00am- 3:00pm.  If you are not able to pick up your cord in advance, you can pick it up when you check in to your ceremony.

Parking

For Credit Union 1 Arena:

Complimentary parking is available in the Harrison Street Parking Structure, located 1100 West Harrison Street, Lot 1A, 1109 West Harrison Street or Lot 1B, located 1139 West Harrison Street. Parking in the Harrison Street Parking Structure may be limited. If necessary, guests will be directed to the Halsted/Taylor Street Parking Structure, located at 760 West Taylor Street. Complimentary UIC shuttle buses will be available and directional signage will be posted.

For UIC Dorin Forum

Complimentary parking is available in Lot 5 located at 1135 South Morgan Street and Lot 6 located 1135 South Halsted Street.

Facility Information
All graduates and guests will enter through Evolv security systems.

Only small bags, 14″ X 14″ X 6″ or less, will be allowed into the venue.  Bags larger than 14″ X 14″ X 6″ will NOT be allowed into the venues.  All bags are subject to search upon entry.

The following items are prohibited in the Credit Union 1 Arena and UIC Dorin Forum:
•             Tripods (cameras welcome)
•             Strollers
•             Helium Balloons
•             Noisemakers or air horns
•             Pyrotechnic devices
•             Outside food or beverages
•             Weapons of any kind including knives, spikes, sticks, or anything else deemed unsafe
•             Laser pointers
•             Graphic boards
•             Bottles or cans
•             Mace
•             Aerosol cans
•             Confetti
