Graduation is a celebration - a celebration of an ending and a beginning. It is a time to commemorate academic achievements and friendships built while at UIC.
Commencement is a special occasion, one with a long-standing tradition associated with dignified proceedings that surround the granting of degrees.
At each college ceremony, undergraduate, graduate and professional degree students will be individually recognized when degrees are conferred.
The UIC Commencement Ceremonies are televised live through the University's Commencement website and archived audiovisual recordings can also be viewed after the events through the website. In addition, still photographs of Commencement activities are taken for University archival and promotional purposes. Individual commemorative photography is taken while each graduate crosses the stage. Photos are available for purchase from Grad Images.
